María Vilca is a health worker and environmental activist based in Buenos Aires, originally from the Province of Jujuy. She lives in Barrio Rodrigo Bueno, where residents are currently facing eviction due to the city government's plans for urbanization.

In 2020, during the pandemic, María and other women initiated a community garden in their neighborhood to cultivate food and offer environmental education. By 2024, the community garden expanded to the La Cárcova Museum. Since then, they have been offering gardening workshops at both locations, promoting agroecological knowledge and building resilient networks.

María Vilca, as representative of the Community of Garten Las Yungas, has been a cooperation partner of the Plants_Intelligence Project since 2025, within the framework of the ongoing project Las Tres Ecologías by the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires.

The Community Garten Las Yungas is located at La Cárcova Museum.

Interlocutors of this cooperation in Buenos Aires are also:

Eduardo Molinari/Archivo Caminante, Visual Artist and Research Professor at the Visual Arts Department of the National Art University; Las Tres Ecologias, Educational Program of the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art; Visual Artist and Plants_Intelligence Team Member Julia Mensch.
